CT

Computer Axial Tomography (CAT) is also known as CT Scan. A CT Scan provides detailed information of internal organs and is particulary superior for imaging the chest, abdomen and pelvis. A CT scan provides cross-sectional images of the body which are called slices.

Our CT scanners perform spiral scans -- the newest and fastest scanning technology available. CT scans were originally developed for diagnosing disorders of the brain, but are now used to image tissues throughout the entire body. Because of the clarity and detail provided by a CT scan, patients can potentially avoid exploratory surgery. CT scans also provide greater detail than a conventional radiograph and can provide a more detailed visualization of the internal organs and soft tissues.

How The Test Is Performed

A CT scan uses an ultra-thin, low dose X-ray beam which minimizes radiation exposure. Tower Diagnostics is proud to provide the most complete and sophisticated 16 Slice CT scanner in the southeast United States.
